Since 17 July 2024 ECORD has its presence in the German Maritime Museum (DSM) in Bremerhaven, Germany.
A permanent exhibit in DSM: “Ship Realms – The Ocean and Us” focus on the construction, propulsion and function of various ships, including research vessels. A dedicated part of the exhibit focus on how the science is done on a research vessel, what data can be gathered during a scientific expedition, and how does such an expedition is implemented.
For this exhibition ECORD provided materials related to IODP Expedition 310: Tahiti Sea Level. Along with scientific models and information, a recorded interview with a Co-chief Scientist of the Expedition 310 (Gilbert Camoin) can be watched and listened to through the installed exhibition equipment. Physical items donated for this exhibition by ECORD include a replica of a core recovered during Expedition 310, and a corresponding 3D model of a Pocillopora coral.
