Drillship Fugro Synergy docked in the port of Corinth, Greece (C. Cotterill, ECORD/IODP)
Before the expedition, a press conference was held on Thursday 19 October 2017, in Loutraki, Greece. Speakers included Lisa McNeill, Donna Shillington, Co-chief Scientists, and Gareth Carter, Expedition Project Manager. The event was followed by a tour of the Fugro Synergy with interviews of the Co-chiefs. A media release was issued on the same day.

During the expedition, ship reports and the expedition blog describing the activities of the scientists, engineers and ship’s crew on-board the Fugro Synergy are posted online on a regular basis.
