What personal information does ECORD collect and how is it collected?
Your personal information is collected directly when you:
- Subscribe to the ECORD news – we collect your name and email address;
- Subscribe to our newsletter via the pop-up contact form posted on our front page – we collect your name and email address.
When you provide information through one of the mediums described above, we will process the data based on your consent. You may revoke your consent at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” ticking box posted in the forms.
In the case of access to protected ECORD websites (ECORD Information database and restricted ECORD web pages), the logged-in and registered users have the following personal data collected during the stay on these pages:
- name of the user;

- if applicable, the membership of the user to a specific user group.
The collection of data serves to enable the use of restricted internet sites to establish a connection, as well as for purposes of system security. Why do we collect your personal data?
We collect your personal data when your subscribe to our mailing list to regularly inform you of ECORD and IODP news, calls and publication releases. All personal data are stored in the newsletter plug-in we use to distribute regular information and news by email. The use of your personal information is limited to the purpose for which it was collected. We do not use your personal data for marketing purposes.
How long do we retain your data?
We are only allowed to keep your data for as long as it is strictly necessary or until you request its deletion.

The data you provide through the ECORD website are stored on the ECORD server located at OVH data centre, Paris, France – https://www.ovh.com/fr/.
Why do we use web cookies?
When you browse our websites, ECORD does not collect any personal information, but statistical data on an aggregated basis. For this we use web cookies to analyse the traffic to our websites.
